NEW FEATURE - Training Leaders Community

We’ve just submitted app update 4.2.74 for approval, and it includes a new feature built specifically for training leaders.

The Training Leaders Community is a space where you can connect with other training leaders from clubs around the UK.

You can use it to:
  • share session ideas, drills, and plans that have worked well for your group
  • ask questions and get advice from people who run sessions every week
  • pick up tips on things like safety, group management, and keeping members motivated

The Community is only available to training leaders, so the conversation stays focused on coaching and leading training groups.

The update should be available over the next few days. Once you’ve updated to version 4.2.74, you’ll find the Training Leaders Community on the app home screen or under the training section in the sidebar menu.

It will only be as useful as the people in it, so please do take a look, introduce yourself, and share something from your own sessions. We'd also welcome any feedback on how we can make it better.

Thanks for everything you do for your club.

Your club and members did all that? Here's the proof...

We've added something new to your club dashboard. Our Season turns your club's activities in connectMyClub into a simple recap of the season or the last month, plus a branded image you can download and share on social media, in your newsletter, or at your AGM. It's a bit of fun, and a nice way to say thank you to your members. And the best part is there's nothing to set up.

How to find it:
  1. Log in to the club portal.
  2. On the Dashboard scroll to the Our Season panel, next to the Usage Report.
  3. Click View Our Season.
  4. Choose This season or Last month.
  5. Click Download image to save a ready-to-share picture.

It works well at the end of a season, or as a monthly "look what we did" post.

Log in and take a look. Don't forget to tag @connectmyclub on your socials.

Club Records, now database driven

We've been busy updating the club records feature.

The old version simply read a spreadsheet the club uploaded and displayed it in a table, on the club app and on the club website (powered by connectMyClub). The new version is database driven.

To get started, your club uploads a spreadsheet, there's a sample spreadsheet to download from Inform > Club Records. When you re-upload it, AI mapping lets you check and assign the columns. From there, records are editable directly on the club portal.

Here's the best part: when a member runs, swims, cycles, jumps, or throws in an event and logs it in the app, if that performance is a potential club record, it'll be flagged on the club portal automatically.

For clubs that already had a spreadsheet in the system, we've downloaded it, edited where necessary (there were some interesting spreadsheets), and re-uploaded it to create your records.

In the coming app update, club records will be visible again as separate male and female tables, much cleaner than before. If the person viewing the records is female, the app will show the female table by default, and vice versa.

We've archived all the original spreadsheets, so if you spot any anomalies, let us know and we'll sort them.

We hope the new system helps you keep track of your club's records more easily.

We're exhibiting at the National Running Show 2027

We're pleased to announce that connectMyClub will be exhibiting at the National Running Show, taking place at the NEC Birmingham on 30 and 31 January 2027.

It's our first time on the exhibition floor, and we'll be bringing both connectMyClub and ActiveSafe along to meet clubs, committee members and volunteers face to face.

Why we're going

Most of the clubs using connectMyClub found us through word of mouth, a recommendation from another secretary, or a Google search at exactly the moment their spreadsheet stopped coping. The National Running Show gives us a chance to do things the other way round: to meet clubs before the admin becomes a problem, and to show what a club platform built specifically for running, athletics, triathlon, and cycling clubs can actually do.

We'll have the team on hand to walk through the platform properly, rather than a rushed two-minute pitch. Bring your questions, your pain points, and if you fancy it, your current spreadsheet.

What we'll be showing

connectMyClub — membership management, training setup, payments, and the features clubs tell us they actually use day to day, including LiveMap for real time location sharing on runs, Garmin and Strava sync, and what3words emergency buttons for group leaders.

ActiveSafe — our anonymous safety reporting tool, giving members a safe way to report incidents and clubs a clear picture of what's happening around their sessions and local area.

Come and find us

We'll share our exact stand number closer to the show. In the meantime, if you're planning to attend and want to book in a proper demo slot rather than catching us between conversations, get in touch and we'll set something up.

We're looking forward to it.

Help us celebrate your club at the National Running Show 2027

Next year, connectMyClub is exhibiting at the National Running Show at the NEC, Birmingham, on 30–31 January 2027, and we'd love your club to be part of our success story.

We'll soon be designing the artwork for our stand graphics, and we want it to feature the clubs that have helped make connectMyClub what it is today. We'd also like to use some of these photos on our website.

If you'd like your club to be part of our first exhibition, please dig out your best photos for us to consider. Just let us know what you're happy for us to use them for (stand graphics, website, or both).

Please make sure you have permission from everyone in the photo before sending it over.

We'd love to see photos from training sessions, races, and athletics meets, ideally showing your club in its finest kit, with flags and banners if you have them.

We look forward to seeing what you send over.

What's new in connectMyClub — v4.2.0

Alongside a thorough visual refresh that makes the app feel sharper and more polished, we've introduced a feature that clubs with junior members have needed for a long time: guardian-linked accounts. Here's what's changed.

Junior members, sorted

Managing children's memberships has always meant workarounds — separate email addresses, separate logins, and plenty of opportunity for things to get out of sync. That changes with this update.

Guardians can now register junior members directly from within the app, without needing a dedicated email address for each child. A new Register Junior screen walks you through the process, and connectMyClub handles everything behind the scenes. Once set up, you can switch instantly between your own account and your child's using the member switcher — junior accounts are clearly labelled so there's no confusion about whose profile you're viewing.

Club emails go to the guardian automatically. Juniors won't receive communications directly, which is exactly how most clubs want it.

If your club has a junior section, this should make membership management significantly simpler for your committee and your parents alike.

A more polished app experience

We've put a lot of work into how the app looks and feels throughout. The changes are subtle individually, but together they add up to something noticeably more refined.

Switching between clubs or accounts is now smoother, with a clean animated transition rather than an abrupt swap. Tapping buttons now gives a gentle haptic response — a small thing that makes the app feel more responsive in your hand. Loading screens now show skeleton placeholders rather than a blank screen or a spinner, so there's always a sense of something happening.

Visually, cards and lists have been tidied up with softer corners and better typography. Input fields now highlight in your club's own colour when you tap into them, which is a small touch that makes the app feel a bit more like yours. Button animations throughout round it off.

Enjoying the app? We'd love a review

If you get a prompt asking you to leave an App Store or Google Play review, that's new too. We've tried to time it so it only appears after you've actually done something — joined a session, posted on the message board, made a purchase through the club shop. It's not something that'll pop up constantly, and if you'd rather report an issue than leave a review, there's a direct feedback option in the prompt itself.

As always, if you run into anything or have a suggestion, drop us a message through the app. Thanks for being part of connectMyClub.
